View from our room

The hospital that we are in is right along the Pacific Ocean in Newport Beach California (10 minutes from our home). I suppose there are worse places to spend your first few days in this world.

Father and Son

I know I'm ridiculously biased but this candid is one of my favorite pictures.

Carter Jon Goodyke

Carter Jon Goodyke was born at 11:46 A.M. (P.S.T.) on June 8, 2006. He weighed 7 pounds and 12 ounces and was 20 inches.

The Goodyke Family

The birth went extremely well and both Mom and Carter are perfectly healthy. Dad, as you can see, is beaming with pride.

Nursery

We've created a "mini-nursery" for Carter. Since we only have a two-bedroom condo and we want to continue to host out-of-town guests (hint: we love visitors), we are keeping a guest bed in the same room which makes for limited space. Hopefully Carter will be a flexible baby and won't mind giving up his room when guests are in town.

The Final Countdown

We've made it 39 weeks and Thursday is the big day when Carter will debut (unless he chooses to come earlier). Mom is trying to relax and enjoy the final week now that she is not working, but her nesting instincts are kicking in. We've been busy running last minute errands and doing things like going to movies and going to dinner before our time is occupied by the little guy.
